Belize Accommodation
Belize can offer tourists a great array of accommodation ranging from comfortable budget hotels to luxurious beach resorts and jungle lodges with vast tracts of pristine wilderness as their grounds.
Alternatives include small private guesthouses, huge, internationally owned hotel chains, diver-orientated resorts on the outer cayes, lodges that cater to the eco-tourist with bird-watching lists and evening discussions, and health resorts providing herbal body wraps.
The style or speciality of each hotel or lodge can be radically different, and is often created by the environment. Although staying in urban centres might give a traveller more insight into the local Belizean character and culture, most visitors come to taste nature.
For accommodation in lodges and on some cayes, it is difficult to give price guides as they usually offer deals, which include diving or fishing trips, or rainforest treks, etc. They are usually expensive, but very convenient and worthwhile.
There is usually an additional 10 or 15 percent service charge plus 5 percent room tax added to the price, unless otherwise stated.
