Football
Orlando's closest team in the National Football League is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The season runs Sep-Dec. College games draw almost as many (highly partisan) fans as the NFL matches. The Citrus Bowl held in Orlando at the New Year is one of the top matches in the football season.
Baseball
As the official spring training grounds for 18 major league teams, Florida from February through March is the place to watch your favourite players warm up for the summer season. Visiting teams also meet in friendly games in the so-called Grapefruit League, which draws big crowds.
Basketball
The Orlando Magic is the city's professional basketball team. They play at the TD Waterhouse Center. The season begins in September and runs through May. Call the box office 407-896 2442 for information and tickets.
