The Place

Thailand, formerly Siam, is one of the oldest kingdoms in Asia. Its rich cultural history is strongly rooted in Buddhism, the national religion.Beautifully ornate temples stand alongside soaring high-rises in Bangkok and among the lush greenery of the tropical countryside. The country's gorgeous beaches areprobably its main attraction to most visitors, with many hideaway islands dotted around its archipelago. Then there are the colourful floating markets, dive sites, elephant treks in the jungleand not to mention the fleshpots of Bangkok.
