Q: How many days do you need in Mexico?

You can hit a highlight or two in a week , say, CDMX plus Teotihuacán and a few days in Oaxaca or Tulum. But travel times add up. Ten to fourteen days gives you space to explore different regions. For example: Yucatán’s ruins, cenotes, and beaches; or a Mexico City-Puebla-Oaxaca loop with food, markets, and mountain villages. With three weeks or more , you can mix cities, coast, and jungle at a slower pace. It’s a big country, don’t try to do it all in one go.

Ferries run between Baja California and the mainland, but otherwise, land borders and flights are the main routes in.

Do I need a visa to travel to Mexico?

Most visitors don’t need a visa for stays up to 180 days. That includes travelers from the US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. You’ll need a valid passport and may be asked to show proof of onward travel.

You’ll also be given an FMM form (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) on arrival, don’t lose it. You’ll need it when leaving the country.
