What’s your ideal 7–10 day route and why?

For a first visit, I love combining Athens, Naxos, and Santorini. Athens brings ancient history and vibrant city life, Naxos offers authentic villages, wonderful food, and beautiful beaches, while Santorini adds dramatic scenery and unforgettable sunsets. It's a lovely balance of culture, relaxation, and island exploration, with enough time in each destination to truly experience it rather than just pass through.

Most adjustments involve the pace of the trip or the balance between guided experiences and free time. Some travelers realize they'd rather spend an extra night on an island, while others discover an interest in food tours, sailing, or cultural activities they hadn't initially considered. I see the first proposal as the beginning of a conversation, and I love refining the details until the journey truly reflects each traveler.

I love pairing Athens with the Cyclades, combining Crete with Santorini, or exploring Athens and the Peloponnese for a culture-rich journey. These combinations offer beautiful contrasts while keeping travel relatively smooth. I generally avoid itineraries that jump between distant islands or too many regions in a short time. I'd much rather help you discover fewer places more deeply than spend valuable vacation time constantly moving.

What’s a common first-time visitor mistake and how do you prevent it?

Trying to visit too many islands in too little time! Greece looks compact on a map, but ferry connections and transfers can take up valuable vacation time. I always help travelers find the right balance between exploring and relaxing, recommending destinations that work well together and allowing enough time to enjoy each one. Sometimes, visiting one less island makes the entire experience so much more rewarding.
