What trips do you enjoy planning most?

Accepted Answer

The ones where I can go beyond the obvious: combining Portugal's must-see places with smaller towns, local food, beautiful landscapes and experiences you would probably never find on your own. I especially enjoy trips for couples and families who want comfort and quality, but also want to feel they have genuinely discovered Portugal.

What kind of traveler are you the best fit for and who may not be?

Accepted Answer

I’m a great fit if you want a private, comfortable and carefully planned trip, but don’t want to feel like you’re following a package tour. You’ll probably love us if you value local food, culture, hidden places and having someone on the ground who knows Portugal personally. We may not be the right fit if you only want the cheapest way to get from A to B.

What’s your ideal 7–10 day route and why?

Accepted Answer

For a first trip, I love Lisbon + Porto and surroundings: Sintra, Cascais, Nazare, Aveiro and Coimbra. But I wouldn’t simply add cities to fill 10 days. I’d leave room for long lunches, tapas, a fado evening, a beautiful hotel and a few unexpected stops. The best route is the one that feels good, not the one with the most pins on the map.

What do travelers most often change in your first proposal?

Accepted Answer

Usually, less than they expect. I often hear, “We didn't know we wanted that!” Once they see the route, they may ask for a slower day, a different hotel, more food and wine, or one more hidden place. That’s why my first proposal is a conversation starter, not a final itinerary. We refine it together until it feels like their trip.

Which regions do you love combining and which do you avoid?

Accepted Answer

I love combinations that make geographical and emotional sense: Porto + Douro Valley region, Lisbon + the Costa Caparica, Faro, Lagos and Benagil, or the less well known areas of the country like Monsanto, Piódão, Sortelha or Marvão. I avoid combining places just because they look good on a map. If getting there means spending half a day in a car or constantly changing hotels, I’d rather remove a destination and give you more time to enjoy the ones that remain.

What’s a common first-time visitor mistake and how do you prevent it?

Accepted Answer

Trying to see too much. Portugal looks manageable on a map, but distances, check-in times, train schedules and sightseeing add up quickly. I build routes around how the days actually feel, not just how they look on Google Maps. I’d rather you come home saying “we wish we had stayed longer” than “we needed a vacation after our vacation.”

What are 3 local experiences most visitors miss?

Accepted Answer

A long lunch in a small village where nobody is rushing you. A family-run winery or cider house where you meet the people behind what you are tasting. And simply knowing where locals go for tapas, seafood or a drink at the end of the day. They sound simple, but these are often the moments people remember most. That’s the Spain I want you to experience.

When do you recommend slowing down and what would that day look like?

Accepted Answer

Whenever you’ve had two or three days of sightseeing in a row — or whenever I think you’re trying to fit too much in. A slow day might mean breakfast with no schedule, a walk through a small town, a long local lunch, some time at the hotel and an afternoon with nothing planned. To me, that isn't “free time.” It's part of the luxury.
