I love designing multi-generational trips to the Galápagos- grandparents snorkeling beside grandkids, everyone spotting sea lions and blue-footed boobies together. After 8 years of crafting private, high-end itineraries, nothing beats balancing adventure, comfort, and ease so every generation gets a trip they'll talk about for years.

I'm the best fit for travelers seeking private, high-end journeys with thoughtful pacing and dedicated communication throughout- families, couples, and small groups who value comfort and authenticity over rushing through checklists. I may not be the best fit for ultra-budget backpackers or last-minute travelers seeking bare-bones, no-frills logistics.

What’s your ideal 7–10 day route and why?

My favorite is 4 days in Quito and the Andean Highlands, then 5–6 days island-hopping the Galápagos Islands or aboard a small luxury yacht. It's the perfect contrast: colonial architecture and volcano views first, then snorkeling with sea lions and spotting giant tortoises. Compact, comfortable, and unforgettable- no wasted travel days.

What do travelers most often change in your first proposal?

Pacing, most often. First-time visitors tend to underestimate distances and altitude changes between the Andes, Amazon, and Galápagos. After 8 years of designing these routes, I build in buffer days and realistic transitions from the start, but travelers often ask to add an extra night in the highlands or extend their Galápagos cruise once they see how much there is to experience.

Which regions do you love combining and which do you avoid?

My favorite pairing is the Andean Highlands with the Galápagos- cool mountain culture one week, tropical wildlife and snorkeling the next, all within a short flight. I'm cautious about combining the Amazon with the Galápagos Islands on short trips; both deserve unhurried time, and rushing either shortchanges the experience I want my travelers to have.

What’s a common first-time visitor mistake and how do you prevent it?

Accepted Answer

Renting a car to self-drive in the Highlands or along the coast. Roads, signage, and driving norms here differ greatly from the US or UK, and it can turn a relaxing trip into a stressful one. I arrange private drivers and transfers instead — safer, more comfortable, and it frees travelers to actually enjoy the scenery.

Eight years here have taught me the best moments often sit just off the typical route.

Mid-Galápagos, around day 4 or 5. I build in a lighter day- a leisurely beach walk, a light snorkel, and an afternoon free to simply watch wildlife rather than chase the next activity. After 8 years of planning these trips, I've learned the quiet moments are often what travelers remember most.
