Arrival in Buenos Aires (no guide)

Upon arrival, our representatives will meet you at Buenos Aires International Airport and escort you to the hotel for check-in. They will then present you with an itinerary covering all services and necessary information for your Argentinian trip, including a contact list and additional information on the hotels where you will be staying. The rest of the evening is yours to spend at your leisure.

DAY 2

Buenos Aires - City Tour

The tour includes attractions such as the 9 de Julio Avenue, the Obelisk and Corrientes Street; we will see the Plaza de Mayo, the Cathedral and the Cabildo (Old City Hall). After that, the trip will continue towards the most traditional neighborhood of Buenos Aires, San Telmo, which is characterized by its old colonial houses and the cobblestoned streets.Later on, the tour will go to La Boca Neighborhood located in the south of the city. There will be a stop so as to look around the colorful zinc houses that make up this area of Buenos Aires and that used to be the refuge and home for the first immigrants and popular artists.Soon after, the you will have a panoramic view of Puerto Madero – the old port of the city that was turned into one of the most exclusive gastronomic and residential areas in Buenos Aires.Finally, the last point in the tour is Recoleta, which is one of the most selected neighborhoods and where, among other attractions, the Recoleta Cemetery can be found. Also, there are bars, cafes and fancy restaurants that are worth a visit. Here will be the last stop so as to walk to the cemetery area and its surroundings.

Calafate - Perito Moreno

Departing in the morning from El Calafate, after 80 km you reach the western end of the Peninsula de Magallanes from where the walk along the walkways begins. Here you can spend the time you want to this amazing place, with various stops at panoramic points within the National Park.The walkways are 3 km long. They are located at different levels and allow you to contemplate the glacier from different perspectives and balconies. Depending on the physical conditions, you can reach the lower balconies and near the glacier or stay on the first balconies easily accessible for anyone.Optional Additional: Nautical Safari tour.

DAY 5

Transfer to Ushuaia

Ushuaia - Tierra del Fuego

At 12 km from Ushuaia, over the Beagle channel coast´s. Surrounded by forests of Nothofagus (ñires, lengas, guindos) and incredibles views of lakes, rivers and peat bogs.  The first part of the trip borders the Pipo river to the northwest of the valley and then crosses the floor covered by peat bogs.  We continue our trip to Roca lake, where we will go for an interpretive walk and then take some time for a coffee.  Following the last winding section of the road, we will arrive at Lapataia Bay, where a sign indicates the end of National Route Nº 3. From this point you will be able to access, by a short walk, to the coasts of the Bay, ideal place for the sighting of birds of the region such as steam ducks, upland gooses etc.

Drake Passage & King George Island

As you sail through the Drake Passage en route to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands, attend an engaging program of lectures and presentations. In the company of expert guides, watch for wildlife from the lounge or the outside decks. You may spot magnificent seabirds, such as albatrosses and petrels, as well as different species of whales on their way south to Antarctica.

South Shetland Islands

After crossing the Antarctic Convergence, the environment changes noticeably. Keep your camera ready, as this is the time to watch for the first icebergs and the first sight of Antarctic land. Reaching the South Shetland Islands, sail in ice-filled bays, while enjoying the company of seabirds, penguins, seals, and whales. Board a Zodiac for your first memorable shore visit to a penguin colony. Exploration will continue well into the evening taking advantage of the long Antarctic daylight.

From Antarctica to Punta Arenas

Upon reaching King George Island, disembark at Fildes Bay. A 2-km (1.25-mile) walk takes you through Chile’s Frei Station and Russia’s Bellingshausen Station to the aircraft. Bid farewell to Antarctica as you board the flight to Punta Arenas/Chile. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for the night.
