DAY 1-4

Kithulgala

DAY 1

Plunge straight in

Upon your arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be met at the Bandaranaike International Airport by our guide, followed by transfer to the hotel. Trips will take you to Kitulgala; one of the wettest places in Sri Lanka. Here you will grab your hard-core wet gear and leap head-first into a rafting challenge on white water, which will take you thundering downstream. A day highlight will be a mind-blowing waterfall jump. If hardcore adventurism is not for you, then simply trek along the beaten track to admire the immaculate beauty of the wilderness.

DAY 2

Belilena Caves

Enjoy an unforgettable trip to Belilena Caves located 8 km from the town of Kitulgala. This is the site where the skeletal remains of ten individuals of Balangoda Man were discovered, an early ancestor of modern-day man thought to have flourished in these parts 32,000 years ago. Much of the cave remains to be explored. A visit to the site requires the use of a rope or rope ladder.

Nuwara Eliya

DAY 4

Hike to Single Tree Hill

For the climbing adventure of a lifetime, this guided trekking adventure will see you hiking up the Single Tree Hill, the 9th highest peak above 2000-meters in Sri Lanka. The trek sets out from Shanthipura, the highest village in Sri Lanka. The trail to Single Tree Hill cuts through a forest habitat of wild boars, samburs and the occasional leopard. Along the way, you shall stop at selected locations, ideal for taking photos. The view from the peak of Single Tree Hill offers the best vantage point to observe the southern end of the Nuwara-Eliya region. The trek ends with a hike back to Nuwara Eliya via established road.

DAY 5

Summit Sri Lankan's K1

You will need appropriate hiking gear for this challenging trek. Meet at a Horton Plains base for briefing and set off. K1 (also known as Kirigalpotta) is the highest point in the Horton Plains Sanctuary and the highest peak accessible to the public. This trek is for daring adventurers capable of coping with the difficult terrain and often adverse weather. The trail will take you through grassy plains, cloud forest, marshy terrain and rock surfaces. Leopard and sambur roam here, and with luck you may encounter species such as Bear Monkey & Rhino Horned Lizard.

Trek to Ella

A popular hill country village 8 kms from Bandarawela, the small town of Ella is a base for trekking expeditions to the lush and breathtaking surrounding countryside. Some of the places you shall see in Ella are the Ella Gap, Ravana Ella Falls, Little Adam's Peak and Bambaragala Peak, among the other many varied and pleasant walks with stunning scenery.

Little Adam's Peak

Named after the larger Adam’s Peak, the imposing Little Adam‘s Peak is 1141m in height and is a strong attraction for tourists in search of exciting treks and panoramic views. Here you will stroll through lush green tea plantations and paddy fields, all the while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Gal Oya

Birdwatching in Gal Oya

Accompanied by a resident naturalist, enjoy the abundant birdlife and beautiful surroundings of Gal Oya. The walk offers a number of trails through woods and clearings, and around the nearby lake. Here you will observe bird species such as kingfishers, eagles, kites and many aquatic birds.

DAY 10

Monkey Mountain

Enjoy a pre-dawn 1.5 hour trek up Monkey Mountain. At the summit you will gaze upon the sun rising over the hills in the distance, as it slowly spreads it's light over the canopy of jungle below. Afterwards, return for a well-earned breakfast. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

Jeep Safari in Gal Oya National Park

Take a jeep ride into the forgotten Nilgala section of Gal Oya National Park. Once protected by ancient royalty for its medicinal plants and endemic birdlife, today the park’s unique ecosystem is home to herds of elephants, wild boar, four species of deer, jackals, sloth bears, marsh mugger crocodiles and an dizzying array of rare exotic birds. Hiking with our expert naturalists is also an option.  You can enjoy a picnic by a river, waterfall or at one of the park’s many panoramic spots. Recommended is a 12:30pm start, for a late lunch, followed by a refreshing swim in the river. Then back to the safari adventuring in the late afternoon.

Bicycle tour in Gal Oya

Enjoy a guided and leisurely off track bicycle ride to the small Kiri Oruwa Lake, which is teeming with bird species. You may also choose the trail which cuts through the national park and leads to the beautiful Namal Oya Reservoir. Helmets are provided.

Misty Mountain Range

The mist-laden Knuckles Mountain Range resembles the knuckles of a clenched fist and stretches from Matale to Kandy. The range is home to a magnificent variety of endemic flora and fauna.  Cliff tops offer spectacular views of the surrounding dense forests, tea plantations, terraced paddy fields and waterfalls. Meanwhile, fine tune your evening by listening to the crickets' cry as lanterns sway in the wind while you sit content, in the comfort of your canvas tent!

DAY 14

Tea Picking at Rosyth Estate

Rosyth is a small 62 acre tea plantation where tea is plucked by hand and sold to the nearby tea factory, whilst latex is tapped, treated and sold to a local rubber factory. Coconuts, fruits, spices and other produce are also grown on the estate. Most importantly, Rosyth Estate offers walking trails & mountain biking routes. Guests are free to explore the estate and try their hand at plucking two leaves and a bud from the tea bushes.

DAY 15

The summit of Bathelegala

Commencing at 8am for the base of the rock, you will set out on a hiking expedition through a jungle trail, up to the summit of Bathelegala know as “Bible Rock”, offering spectacular views of Asupini Ella, Kaduganawa Pass and Ura Kande. This is an ideal spot to photograph Sri Lanka's elusive Black Eagle and Shaheen Falcon. Attractions include cave exploration and rock climbing. At the end of the guided tour, proceed to base for lunch.
