The Arashiyama Bamboo Forest is one of Kyoto's main attractions. Picturesque walkways, measuring over 500 metres in length, cut through the dense bamboo and cover the area between the entrance to the temple at Tenryu-ji and the Nonomiya Shrine. Visitors can rent a bike and cycle along the pathways.
