About this photo

Myanmar's Intha people now number around 70,000 and primarily inhabit the area around Inle Lake. The Intha fishermen have a unique leg-rowing style which is an art form in itself. You will likely be able to see some of the fishermen at work on a visit to Inle Lake.

Many of Insight Guides' trips to Myanmar take in Inle Lake. One such ready-made trip is Myanmar's Ancient Treasures; all of our trips are completely customisable and can be tailor-made to individual requirements.

For further information, The People of Myanmar provides an overview of the country's people, tribes and traditions. Plus, don't forget your copy of Insight Guides: Myanmar on your trip.
