About this photo

The Iguazú falls lies on the border between Brazil and Argentina. The upper Iguazú River runs through Brazil until it reaches the point on the border where 275 individual falls make up the spectacle which plunges over the 3km (2-miles) tall Paraná Plateau, where a deafening crescendo can be heard. The majority of the falls are on the Argentine side of the border. From this point, the river is known as the Lower Iguazú River. Take a trip to the tremendous falls on Insight Guides' Argentina's Northern Highlights.
