About this photo

The iconic tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is the tallest telecommunication tower in Southeast Asia at 421-metres tall and often appears to be taller than the city's world-famous Petronas Towers (it's actually built on a hill, hence its the lofty appearance).

Standing amid the trees of the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, the KL Tower has been the world BASE jump centre since 1999, with people jumping from the structure with only a parachute or wing suit attached to them, gliding over the forest with views of the city. If BASE jumping is a bit extreme, visitors can observe the cityscape from the KL Tower's 276-metre high observation deck. The top four floors of the tower are reserved for its main purpose: telecommunications.
