About this photo

Street goats feed on some posters in Fort Kochi, Kerala. Goats are farmed in this region as the climate lends itself to rearing animals. Goats are often used for their meat, horns, skin and hair.

The more domesticated goats are often let out to wander the streets in Kochi, scavenging food for itself as it goes, generally unbothered by the humans and traffic that surround it. See the goats wandering the streets of Kochi on Insight Guides' Magical Kerala trip.
