About this photo

The best way to observe monkeys is from a dugout canoe floating down a jungle river. A local, trained guide will spot a troop of monkeys early enough to manoeuvre the boat in a position that offers a clear view of the animals foraging in trees along the banks. From within the rainforest, on the other hand, animals may be difficult to see in the treetops. In addition, monkeys may display their displeasure at human intrusion by hurling sticks and fruit down on unfortunate visitor's head.
