About this photo

The Cavalcade of the Magi takes place each year on January 5th, the night before the feast of Epiphany. In Barcelona the Three Kings parade around the city followed by floats and barges full of people who collect children's letters full of gift requests. The parade is accompanied by music and dancing and candy is thrown into the crowds for all the children (although traditionally it will only be for the children who had been good all year). This night marks the end of the Christmas Holidays on the twelfth night. Explore the streets of Barcelona on Insight Guides' Cultural Cities of Spain trip.
