About this photo

Arcos de la Frontera is a typical Andalusian town, with stark-white buildings reflecting the architecture of the region. Located to the east of Jerez de la Frontera, it is surrounded on three sides by the banks of the Guadealete river, creating a dramatic cityscape. Also known as a pueblos blancos (white village), the old town is a tangle of backstreets and beautiful buildings that lead up to the Castillo de los Arcos, an impressive sandstone castle.
