Launched today! Insight Guides travel photography competition and app
Explore the world one day at a time with the new version of the Insight Guides Travel Photography app.
Receive a stunning new photo each and every day from our library of over 250,000 images. This free iPad / iPhone app – with over 100,000 downloads across 100 countries - showcases the best shots from Insight Guides’ extensive range of travel guidebooks, which cover over 200 destinations in 90 countries across the world.
“Photography plays a big role in what Insight Guides as a company is about,” comments Managing Director Katharine Leck. “Photos are a way to inspire people to travel and whether people are looking for somewhere to go on their next holiday, or just want to quench that wanderlust, this app is perfect for them.”
To celebrate the re-launch of the app, we're are launching a month-long travel photography competition starting today.
“This competition shows how dedicated we are to photography and nurturing talent,” says Leck. “We are looking to help photographers of all levels get more exposure and encourage them to interact with us and share their photos.”
Hosted on Flickr, all you have to do to enter is to join the group and submit one of your own travel photos – from sweeping countryside landscapes to urban street photography, all styles are welcome.
The competition is open to professional and amateur photographers from all over the world and closes on 31st May when seven winners will be selected by our judging panel of expert in-house photographers.
Each winner will get one of their photos in the Travel Photography app for one day in a week-long takeover in August, as well as three guide or phrase books of their choice from our website.
