2.  The Blackpool Airshow - 9th-10th August

Families flock to Blackpool to see the air show every year. There is no doubt yours will also love seeing old and new aircrafts take to the skies to perform fantastic demonstrations. From the beach, you can enjoy an ice cream or two while watching daring wing walkers test their nerve and the Red Arrows demonstrate their speed, precision and agility in a spectacular aerobatic display.

3.  CATS the Musical 9th July – 5th September

Following on from a sell-out run in the West End, CATS is set to arrive at the Blackpool Opera House this summer. One of the longest running shows in theatre history, it is a magical experience that will capture the imagination of all your family.

The musical follows the story of the Jellicle cats as they meet at the Jellicle ball and gather to hear who Old Deuteronomy will pick to be reborn into a new life. With an amazing and memorable musical score including ‘Memory’ and ‘Mr Mistoffolees’ this is a performance that will have everyone singing during the car journey home.

4.  Blackpool Illuminations 4th September -8th November

A trip to Blackpool would not be complete without seeing the iconic Illuminations. For 8 weeks one million lamps will light up 10km of the promenade in a spectacular light show that the whole family will love.

Blackpool iFest celebrates the switch on of the lights, with a host of music, comedy and TV talent alongside the dazzling lights that illuminate the beach resort. Alternatively, if you are looking to experience the lights at your own pace, why not grab your bike and join a traffic free promenade for our Ride the Lights event on 1st September?

5.  World Fireworks championship 11th, 18th, 25th September & 2nd October

If you’re looking to visit Blackpool a little later this year, make sure you do not miss the World Fireworks Championships.
