The ancient riverside town of Phoenix (Fenghuang in Chinese) is home to Miao and Tuija ethnic peoples. The town is considered one of the most attractive places in China. It dates back to 248 BC, with Ming and Qing style architecture surrounded by red sandstone city walls and grand gateways.
