About this photo

Sailing is a popular pastime in Mexico, especially at Cabo San Lucas, a city located at the southernmost point of the Baja California peninsula. Cabo San Lucas is sometimes referred to as the “End of the Earth”, as it is the last point on the peninsula.

Insight Guides' Baja: Pacific Coast Paradise holiday itinerary includes a half-day boat trip to explore the peninsula and view the impressive rock formations here for yourself.

Fishing is also popular, with the city hosting the highest paying marlin fishing tournament on earth. This boasts a jackpot of more than $3 million for the lucky winner, earning the unofficial nickname of “Striped Marlin Capital of the World”.
