About this photo

The domed interior of the Hagia Sophia, in Istanbul, is exquisite. Constructed in the 6th century as a cathedral, the Hagia Sophia was turned into a mosque in 1453, and then into a museum in 1935.

Today, the Hagia Sophia is one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture on earth.
