Located in the province of Hunan in China, the spectacular face of Tianmen Mountain offers a couple of dramatic ways to ascend. You can get what is said to be the world’s longest cable-car run, which climbs this vertiginous panorama of rock shards festooned in forest and often shrouded in mist. Or you can take on some of the most winding roads possible, driving up an extraordinarily bendy route.
