About this photo

The Unesco-listed Zhangjiajie National Park, known as "China’s Yellowstone", is a remote park of spectacular beauty. Its landscape is dotted with quartz labyrinths, massive limestone caves and white-water rapids. Huangshizhai and Jinbianxi are the most popular areas, with the best scenery and larger tourist numbers. Most of the more interesting sights are on the walk down. If you don’t mind company, ride the cable car up and walk down with the tour groups. Explore the countryside of China and the major sights on Insight Guides' The Best of China trip.
