Argentina’s diverse terrain offers an outstanding array of attractions and activities. The subtropical northeast is known for its Jesuit ruins and the amazing Iguaçú Falls, while the Andean northwest has the colonial architecture of Salta and the sugar-producing province of Tucumán. Central Argentina is characterized by spectacular mountain scenery, vineyards, and impeccable urban planning in Mendoza; green mountains and lakes in Córdoba; and attractive beach resorts in Buenos Aires province. In the south, you’ll find Welsh communities, pseudo-Tyrolean architecture, pretty towns surrounded by snow-capped mountains and lakes, and magnificent glaciers in the far south. All have a well-developed tourist industry with good transportation links, plenty of accommodation and excellent food.
