One of our top tips for things to do in Berlin is a visit to the Reichstag's soaring glass dome, designed by Sir Norman Foster. Free to visit (although it's best to register in advance to avoid disappointment), you can walk to the top of this breathtaking space and peer into the German parliaments' chambers below, while the exhibit on the Reichstag's turbulent history at the bottom is both sobering and uplifting.
