About this photo

Hong Kong is an exciting destination all year round. But when is the best time to go?

Hong Kong has a humid subtropical climate, with mild winters, a warm humid spring and a stiflingly hot summer. The best time for exploring on foot is the last quarter of the year, when the humidity drops, the daytime temperatures average 24°C (75°F), and rain is rare. Winters can be chilly, with February usually the coldest month, although temperatures below 10°C (50°F) are unusual.

The mercury starts rising from late March. Hong Kong tends to experience the most rain in late spring and summer. Typhoon season is June to October (direct hits are rare). Layers and an umbrella are the key to Hong Kong dressing.
